If your Starlink subscription in Nigeria has expired, renewing it is simple — but there are a few important things to know, especially when it comes to payment cards that actually work.
In this guide, I’ll walk you through the renewal process step-by-step, explain the cards that successfully process Starlink payments in Nigeria, and share a few tips to avoid service interruptions.
1. Don’t Rely on Email Notifications
Starlink doesn’t always send email reminders when your subscription is about to expire.
In my case, I didn’t receive any notice until I logged into my Starlink account and saw a warning that my subscription would be overdue in 3 days.
📌 Tip: Make it a habit to check your Starlink account dashboard regularly to avoid unexpected disconnections.
2. What Happens When Your Subscription Expires
When your Starlink subscription lapses:
-
The Wi-Fi network still appears as connected, but there’s no internet access.
-
Your browser may prompt you to log in, but clicking it can lead to an error page.
-
Restarting or rebooting your Starlink won’t fix it — renewal is the only solution.
3. How to Renew Starlink Subscription in Nigeria
Here’s the exact process I used:
Step 1: Log in to your Starlink account at starlink.com.
Step 2: Go to Billing Settings and click Edit Payment Method.
Step 3: Instead of paying with your previously saved card, enter the details of a new card.
Step 4: Fill in:
-
Card Number
-
Name on Card
-
Expiry Date
-
CVV
-
ZIP Code (enter “00000” or “000000” if you don’t have one)
Step 5: Click Make Payment. Starlink will first charge a small verification fee (about ₦15) before billing the full subscription amount.
4. Cards That Work for Starlink Payments in Nigeria
From my experience:
✅ GTBank Naira Card – Worked perfectly for initial purchase and renewals. Ensure online transactions are enabled.
✅ Kuda Naira Card – Also worked once I enabled online/international payments in the Kuda app settings.
✅ UBA Prepaid Card – Worked Perfectly.
💡 Tip: Even though these are naira cards, enabling them for online transactions increases the chances of successful payment.
5. Current Starlink Subscription Cost in Nigeria
As of today, my renewal cost was ₦38,000. Prices may vary depending on Starlink’s latest rates and currency exchange fluctuations.
6. Final Advice
-
Always enable online/international transactions before attempting payment.
-
Keep at least two different cards ready in case one fails.
-
Don’t wait for Starlink’s email reminders — check your account proactively.
By following these steps, you can renew your Starlink subscription in Nigeria without stress and enjoy uninterrupted internet service.
